History Of Elephants in Mythology

We all know a pregnant elephant died in Kerela after eating pineapple filled with crackers in it, it is very sad news to hear. In respect of it, today I will tell you about the reference of elephants in Hindu Mythology.

1. Vinayaki



Goddess Vinayaki was one of the early Matrika Goddesses and foremost Shakti of Lord Ganesha. Goddess Vinayaki is the part of the 64 Tantrik Yogini.as per the mythological theories, lord Ganesha gained popularity in Vedic practices and his female form goddess Vinayaki became popular in Tantrik circles. In Buddhist work, she is called Ganapatihridaya. However, in the main and modern Hindu traditions. Vinayaki is an independent goddess.

2. Ganesha



Ganesha is the son of god shiv and goddess Parvati and he is associated as the god of wisdom and good fortune. He is also known by different names like Vinayak, Ganpati, and many more. In Hindu mythology, he is considered to be worshiped first. Ganesha is worshiped more in Vedic practices.

 

3. Airavata



Airavata is the white elephant that comes with Indra, the king of Gods. basically, Airavata means the elephants of the cloud. its origin is from the Sagar Manthan.
